JOB SUMMARY

Provides assistance to new customers and established clients. Accountable for providing client services by selling and cross-selling bank services, maintaining existing client relationships, and opening accounts in a timely accurate and courteous manner. Provide assistance to solve client problems. Serve as the initial and primary contact for consumer lending functions. Provide a variety of client savings, checking and credit account transactions. Responsible for the efficient operation of the teller duties and compliance with federal and state regulations as well as Bank policies and procedures.  Abide by the “Deliver on the Promise” commitments. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Uses software applications as required by specific job functions

  • Balances cash and ATMs, cash shipments and orders cash
  • Uses procedures and forms relating to the activities of the assigned work unit
  • Provides efficient and courteous client services, cross-marketing products and services to generate new business when appropriate
  • Open new accounts, services, and products by identifying client and customer needs, completing supporting documentation, and following up on sales efforts
  • Prepares and maintains account paperwork, including signature cards, check orders, transfers and service charges
  • Accept checks for cashing or paying; verify endorsements; identify clients and customers; insure validity of transactions. Verify new client information, including collectability of funds and client identity, background, and bank references to prevent bank losses
  • Develop new business by making telephone calls and typing letters to prospective customers and existing clients
  • Order ATM/Debit cards for clients
  • Order client checks
  • Research debit card transaction questions through DCI
  • Explain merchant service program to merchants and refer them to the Merchant Services Representative
  • Keep current all scanning of corresponding account forms
  • Receive and maintenance account holder information on computer system
  • Be aware that client and customer service is being met for walk-in traffic and telephone calls
  • Relates complete account information to clients in a timely manner
  • Makes decisions when processing Non-Sufficient Funds
  • Researches teller outages and performs adjustments
  • Counts, checks and packages coins and currency
  • Consumer loans:       interviews clients, recommends products, facilitates the initial application, collects income verification, tax returns, proposed collateral, and supporting documentation for analysis. Creates complete loan package for review and approval of the Consumer Loan Rep.       Maintains contact with the client throughout the entire process. Assists client with loan closing
  • Promotes and explains other Bank services such as residential loans, IRAs, certificates of deposit, and cashier’s checks
  • Receives mortgage, consumer loan and other payments and ensures the payments match balances due
  • Makes credit card advances
  • Processes wire transfers
  • Sells cashier’s checks
  • Balances cash drawer at the end of the shift and compares totaled amounts to computer-generated proof sheet. Reports any discrepancies as necessary
  • Assists clients to reconcile checkbook
  • Assists in training of tellers on all aspects of branch operations
  • Ensures that the teller stations are properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc
  • Reports malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment
  • Becomes knowledgeable of compliance issues
  • Other duties as assigned to meet client and operational needs
